Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

On Thursday, April 14th, I had the opportunity to shoot the Dodgers and the Pirates in some Major League Baseball at Dodger Stadium. There was a bit of a buzz going around prior to the start of the game that rain was forecast to begin... right around game time... Not good! Fortunately, everyone remained dry for the course of the game.
I am not normally worried about getting wet personally - it is all of the expensive photography gear! I typically keep on top of the weather and forecast conditions but we had just had some rain and I was under the impression that it had came and went... An error on my part. I should have paid more attention. I was not as prepared as I should have been.
It is good practice to not only have rain gear on hand for yourself (more of a comfort thing), but also to protect your gear. If you don't want to spend the extra money on actual rain gear for your cameras/lenses - plastic trash bags and tape will do the trick... Bring a couple of soft towels or the likes to dry your gear if it does get a bit wet! This time I got lucky, it started raining when I was getting out of my car at home.
