At approximately 6:30 AM on Tuesday, October 11th, Los Angeles City and County Fire Departments responded to the report of a vehicle fire on the northbound 5 Freeway in the Newhall Pass. Upon arrival fire units found a flatbed truck carrying another vehicle fully involved with fire with extension into the brush. Fire units simultaneously worked to knock down the vegetation to prevent it from running up the hillside and put both burning vehicles out on the freeway. Traffic was snarled for nearly an hour.
